Part-Time Advocate Supervisor

About the Role

The Volunteer Supervisor provides direct supervision to our volunteer advocates, guiding them through case management, supporting their growth through training, and helping recruit the next generation of CASA volunteers. You'll work closely with our Executive Director and build relationships with child welfare agencies, courts, and community partners across Berks County. This is meaningful, hands-on work where your leadership directly changes outcomes for children and families.

What You'll Do

Case Management

• Directly supervise and support our volunteer advocates

• Build strong, trusting relationships with volunteers

• Help develop advocacy plans for each case

• Maintain regular communication with every volunteer

• Attend dependency court hearings and participate as needed

• Build professional relationships with child welfare agencies, legal professionals, court staff, and community partners

• Maintain accurate case and volunteer records

Training & Retention

• Help plan and deliver National CASA's training curriculum

• Coordinate guest speakers for pre-service and in-service trainings

• Lead in-service trainings

• Plan retention activities that keep volunteers engaged and supported

Recruitment

• Speak to community groups about CASA's mission

• Support informational sessions and field inquiries from prospective volunteers

• Assist in screening applicants, including reviewing paperwork and participating in interviews

• Contributing to CASA special events, from planning through day-of support

• Pitching in on day-to-day office operations

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a social service–related field (required)

• Experience working with or supervising volunteers

• Strong leadership, time management, and multi-tasking skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• A genuine commitment to CASA's mission

• Understanding of family dynamics related to child abuse and neglect (preferred)

• Bilingual ability (a plus)

• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel locally

Requirements Prior to Start

• Act 33 (Child Abuse) and Act 34 (Criminal Record) clearances

• Act 114 FBI fingerprint check

• Social Security number verification

• National Sex Offender Registry check

Training Commitment

• Complete National CASA's 30-hour volunteer pre-service training

• Participate in 12 hours of continuing education annually
